Thanks goodness my girlfriend Carmen was able to fly down with me for my first 5 days, as my manager Carla couldn't be there from the first day. Brian and his family were so kind to have let her stay with me in the guesthouse too. She too was grateful for such a once in a lifetime experience. It was great to have her there so that I had someone to talk to after the long, but fun days.. She always had a dinner ready too. She's awesome! If your reading this, THANKS CARM!!!

Anyway, Thursday Carmen had to go home. I had rented a car, so I drove her to LAX and at the same time picked Carla up. Their flights were only hours apart, so that worked out well. Carla flew in and we went straight to Hollywood to Hollywood Sound recorders for the first day of tracking. What a cool day. It was so exciting to hear the songs together in the studio. The boys are all soooo talented and it was a blast. I have video somewhere that maybe one day I can post somewhere for you all to see. Scotty is one amazing drummer, Adam amazing on bass, Cary Park is one true star player and Peter played acoustic and did a great job getting everyone together. We all had a lot of fun, got to hang out in between, eat our meals, maybe have a beer or cooler :)))) and Brian took Carla, Peter and I out for an awesome dinner on the 2nd night around the corner on Sunset to this really cool place. I was having the time of my life and taking it all in.

3rd day of rehearsals I started doing some ghost tracks for some of the songs and it was sounding so good. Aside over the days from a few technical issues, I think Brian and all of us were feeling really good about how it was all turning out.

Another cool story for you that happened while we were in Hollywood studio's was that we got a call back from Cory Churko (Shania, Kelly Clarkson) on Carla's cell phone to say that he'd finished Kelly's tour and we was able to play the fiddle on the album. We were so pumped about that and he lives so close to Brian so it all worked out so well.

Carla had to go back to Calgary for a few days so I took her to the airport again Sunday and I had the weekend off before beginning vocals on Monday afternoon, which was now going to be recorded at Brian's studio 'Cookie jar recordings' (Beautiful studio) and is on his property so it made it very convenient and stress free.
